This particular project was tricky as the original red sandstone was brought in from Leicester. Having none available I used pieces from the chimney renovations being undertaken on the West side to repurpose as ready made replacements.

This project was a real trial of patience. Over 70 samples were knocked up prior to the undertaking of the job. Many seemed a perfect match, however, the sun and the heat at the time had an incalculable effect upon the finished dried colour. We got there eventually. It couldn’t be anything other than Grade 2 listed compliant.
